The director of LCF’s Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF), Dilys Williams, has been selected as one of eight UK researchers to work with a team of creative practitioners, artists and mentors to explore the theme ‘Future Cities’, as part of India’s UnBox festival.

The team of leading thinkers will spend ten days exploring how design, research and digital technologies can help create solutions for the future of our cities in an ever urbanising world.

Their work will be presented at the UnBox festival in New Dehli in Autumn 2014.

This project is a partnership between the Arts Humanities Research Council, the British Council, UnBox festival, and the UK’s Science and Innovation Network, and will spearhead thoughts and actions to respond to the UN’s estimate that by 2050, 70 per cent of the world’s population will live in cities.

The topic of future cities inspired CSF’s annual Field Day this year, stimulating thought and debate as to how innovative design and thoughtful analysis of fashion consumption, can make better our urban future.
