Yesterday two London College of Communication (LCC) advertising students joined industry figures in the House of Commons to discuss advertising’s role in the economic recovery.
Chaired by Helen Goodman MP, Luke Owen and Max Lehner, (3rd year BA (Hons) Advertising) were invited by the Advertising Association to support Laurence Green (founding partner, 101 London) and Sam Blackie from Deloitte debating the motion “It pays to advertise, but not enough to revive Britain”
According to a recent study, advertising is worth £100bn annually to UK GDP and crucially, has been proven to inspire growth. So could advertising be the key to economic recovery?
Well, not enough to revive Britain according to the new generation of top creative talent who were present and voted in favour of the motion debated by Luke.
